OK Garth, you can rub this one in everyones face. I for one did not think EK would resign with the sharks. I am sure glad he did, anytime you can get another first round pick no matter where it is, its a good thing.

however, If we are keeping score and home the score is

Garth 2, the field 1,125,220, so don't get to big of a head....

Not sure how Garth can claim a win when he boasted for months Kane would net the Sabres “four premium pieces”. In the end they received a 2019 #1 and a middling prospect. That being said, the Sabres are better off without him as they rebuild without the chronic distraction

Congratulations Garth, you got this one right. I too never thought Kane would resign in SJ. It does beg teh question why does SJ want him (yes he is good but he is disruptive) but oh well. Nevertheless, I wouldn't exactly say that teh Sabres got a "treasure trove" in return.

..kickers were outclassed and out bid by Wilson, who made the only legit, fair market value hockey trade for Kane.

So you now admit that a treasure trove of assets were never going to be offered for Kane?

So, a late 1st round pick is the Treasure Trove equivalent of a Top 4 D, A top prospect and a 1st?

Cuz thats what I kept hearing Kane was going to fetch

After the blog where he predicted Botterill was going to spend the day pouring over the offers for the Dynamic Power Scoring Forward

The 26 year old power forward has signed his 7 year, $49 million contract extension to stay in The Bay Area. The Sharks have made the Kane signing official.

Told ya so.

That 2019 pick may not be so late. Not a treasure trove for sure, but perhaps substantial.

Kane alone should make the Sharks a Stanley Cup contender, If you believe garf's talent evaluation of him

I like Kane as a player, and I think he's matured a bunch. My concern if i we're a Shark's fan would be that you just gave 7 million/year to a player who has only put up 30 goals once and, with his style of play, is injury prone. I don't look at this as the Sharks "winning" anything. I look at it as they were possibly the only team that desired Kane's services at that price.

Corduroy It’s not garths evaluations of Kanes talent and skills it’s fact that supports the evaluation.

Going from 25th in the league to 10th in the league 5v5 in such a short time is quite a jump. That’s what every team in the league needs is a difference maker on the ice.

If he had been a difference maker on the football field not much would’ve been made of the situations, the fan base would’ve been more forgiving.

Public opinion was colored by racism. If Kane had been white the microscope wouldn’t have been that powerful to judge him.

In the following years Sabres fan base will be criticizing the team for trading him.

Players of Kanes skill are hard to come by, and trying to make up what he brings on the ice with a few players, not one player, is over burdening to a team trying to get out of the basement.

Will this man crush continue? We shall see.

Racism? Really? Kane was the author of his on demise, on and off the ice. Marchand takes heat. Junk food boy Kessel takes heat. Party boy Kadri took heat. Carter and Richards took heat for their partying ways. Kanes re it’d is clear. Blaming racism is a cop out. I would sign this one time 30 goal s order on a bet.
Sabres Wasted much to acquire Kane. They were wise to sell low and get rid of him. Move on with Dahlin and Jorts
